Made for Your Unique Feet & Biomechanics
Our custom Align Orthotics™ are available exclusively through Align Custom Fit Footwear & Footcare, under the care of our highly trained team of footcare and alignment specialists. Every pair of Align Orthotics™ is dispensed through a comprehensive Body Align Assessment and are made-to-measure in our Toronto clinic, located at First Canadian Place in the Financial District. Our practice is led by a passionate team of clinicians with backgrounds in athletic therapy, kinesiology, chiropody, pedorthics, and movement science, committed to your long-term wellness.
Form Meets Foot Function
Custom orthotics are precision-crafted medical-grade insoles made to support your unique biomechanics. Unlike generic, mass-produced inserts, Align Orthotics™ are based on your body's specific movement patterns, foot structure, the specific activities you do, and the types of shoes you wear that are healthiest for you. At Align, we combine advanced medical technology with luxurious design sensibility to create custom, medical-grade Align Orthotics™ that improve your alignment and elevate your lifestyle.
Using a detailed gait analysis and biomechanical assessment, we develop a custom orthotic prescription tailored to your body's specific needs. This allows us to treat conditions such as flat feet, overpronation, bunions, arthritis, plantar fasciitis, and even claw toes, with a treatment plan that supports your whole kinetic chain.
Foot Pain Symptoms
Pain rarely shows up where it starts. A tight ankle can spark knee trouble. A collapsed arch might explain that recurring low back stiffness. Heel pain? It could be your Achilles or the plantar fascia pulling at the bone. The body's all connected -and the feet are often the hidden culprit.
Look out for: soreness in the ball of the foot, pressure under the heel, aching calves after short walks, or a feeling of instability on stairs or uneven ground. These are more than annoyances; they're signals. Left alone, they can turn into chronic pain, joint damage, or avoidable injuries. We use custom foot orthotics to get to the root of the problem.
Benefits of Custom Align Orthotics™
The treatment happens as you move. With Custom Align Orthotics™ in Toronto, you'll feel the difference with every step:
Custom orthotics can also help clients suffering from diabetes by reducing stress and friction that could lead to skin breakdown.
Located inside First Canadian Place, our Toronto clinic delivers a spa-like orthotics experience with clinical precision. It all begins with your first visit and our proprietary Body Align Assessment that harmoniously blends lenses of our combined medical disciplines. It’s a 9-step process that evaluates your:
Our clinicians, while medical professionals, act as movement lifestyle coaches and consider every aspect of your lifestyle, movement habits, and footwear preferences. The result is custom Align Orthotics™, designed not just for your feet, but for the way you live and move. Our on-site lab ensures a timely turnaround for your new pair of insoles, crafted for maximum comfort and biomechanical accuracy.
Align Orthotics ™: Specialized Custom Orthotics for Your Life
No two bodies or lifestyles are the same. That's why we offer several types of custom Align Orthotics™, tailored to fit your specific footwear and movement traits.
Our Pitch Perfect™ high heel orthotics' patented design is for those who refuse to compromise on elegance or comfort. We custom-fit each perfect pair to provide discreet support and realignment while preserving the aesthetic and feel of your favourite heels. Reduce the impact of burning arches, ankle fatigue, and sore toes, without sacrificing your look. Perfect for those who experience discomfort from prolonged wear or certain movements that put a strain on the forefoot and ball of the foot. We still don’t recommend wearing heels for long durations or specific activities, but if you’re going to wear them, we will help you do so more safely and comfortably, by allowing less damage to your feet.
Whether you're running along the waterfront, swinging a golf club, or powering through a hockey game, your orthotics should keep up. Our sport-specific orthotics are engineered for dynamic movement, enhancing power, agility, and injury prevention in every stride, jump, or turn. These custom orthotics help correct overpronation and other conditions that affect gait and joint stress.
Ultra-thin and practically invisible, our Align Orthotics ™ for dress and everyday shoes fit seamlessly into your go-to wardrobe. Designed for busy Toronto professionals and on-the-go parents alike, these help relieve pain caused by flat feet, plantar fascia strain, or poor foot mechanics, all while remaining fashion-forward.
From the PATH system to your office desk, Toronto's daily grind demands footwear that works. Align Orthotics ™ for work and commuting, paired with quality, healthy, fashion footwear, provide maximum support and reduce fatigue during prolonged periods of standing, walking, and stair climbing. These insoles can be tailored to accommodate leg length discrepancies, arch collapse, and other conditions commonly linked to urban lifestyles.
Follow-Up Is Part of the Fit
Support doesn't stop at delivery. After your Align Orthotics™ are dispensed to you, we schedule follow-up visits to fine-tune fit and function. You'll also have access to our full suite of footcare services, like medical pedicures, strengthening plans, compression wear and soft bracing, to support your evolving needs.
For clients experiencing ongoing discomfort or painful symptoms, our team works closely with you to adapt your treatment plan. We're committed to helping you find long-term relief from common causes of foot and back pain.

Yes, we design and custom-fit your orthotics into the shoes you already love to wear. If they're not ideal for alignment, we'll help you select beautiful, supportive options from our Healthy Fashion footwear collection.
Think of if this way - does the sole of your shoe affect your body? Yes, of course it does. Can an improved insole change your foot comfort? Yes, it can. Can a medically-designed pair of custom orthotics designed to improve your unique biomechanics be more comfortable in your shoes than the insoles they come with? Most likely. We help everyone find their ideal body alignment through foot health, in our Body Align Assessment. So the question isn’t will orthotics help me - the question you want to ask is ‘Will I benefit from a Body Align Assessment to better understand my movement patterns and footwear choices?’ The answer to this is yes, everyone deserves this medical check-up.
And yes of course, if you experience ongoing foot pain, ankle pain, heel pain, or knee discomfort, especially during walking or exercise, you may benefit from a custom orthotic prescription. Our Body Align Assessment will help determine whether orthotics are the right fit for your symptoms and goals.
Many extended health benefit plans cover custom orthotics when prescribed. We'll help you determine if your plan includes coverage and guide you through and provide everything you need to process your insurance benefits easily. Simply begin by checking your insurance coverage for Chiropody and orthotics. Or see our Insurance Coverage Questions Guide for more information.
You do not need a referral from a doctor to see a chiropodist in Ontario. Chiropodists are primary healthcare practitioners, which means you can book an appointment with them directly and receive a prescription for your custom orthotics as we are authorized to diagnose the medical need to prescribe custom orthotics.
Prescriptions from chiropodists are only provided when they are the dispensing provider. Meaning we cannot provide prescriptions for you to obtain medical products from a different provider other than the one writing your prescription.
If booking with our Athletic Therapist, still no referral is required to book your assessment with us. During your first visit, we'll complete a comprehensive gait analysis to determine if a custom orthotic prescription is suitable for you.
However, to get custom orthotics covered by your private insurance plan under our Athletic Therapist, you will almost always need a prescription from your family physician.
With proper care, most custom orthotics last between one and three years, depending on usage and material. We recommend periodic check-ins to assess wear and update your treatment plan as needed.
